un Projects

un Projects publishes writing that emerges from art making, providing an independent platform for critical discussions about local artistic practice.

With a focus on artists, writers and independent practice, un Projects publishes essays, artists’ work and reviews, in print and online. Our flagship publication is un Magazine which was founded in 2004 by Melbourne artist Lily Hibberd. un Projects was established in 2008 to ensure the ongoing publication of un Magazine and develop further art writing initiatives.

un Magazine

un Magazine is an independent contemporary art magazine published bi-annually. It is printed in Narrm/Melbourne, Australia, and distributed to art organisations, galleries and education institutions around Australia and to selected outlets internationally, as well as being published online.

un Magazine has been published since 2004, when it was founded by artist Lily Hibberd.

Since 2008, un Magazine has been published by un Projects, who appoint a new editor and sub-editor each year. Past editors have included Rosemary Forde, Zara Stanhope, Phip Murray, Din Heagney, Angela Brophy, Kyla McFarlane, Lisa Radford, Jarrod Rawlins, Benjamin Forster, Robert Cook, Pip Wallis, Meredith Turnbull and Shelley McSpedden, David Capra and Amelia Winata, Neika Lehman and Arlie Alizzi, Hugh Childers and Bobuq Sayed, Elena Gomez and Rosie Isaac, Snack Syndicate (Astrid Lorange and Andrew Brooks), and D.
